# The day, in your inbox

> Reassign now sends short, data-rich emails built from your real dial: a morning brief, an evening nudge when tomorrow is still empty, a prompt to close the day, and a Monday review of the week. Here's why a planner should write home, and how these emails earn the inbox.

A planner that only works while you're looking at it isn't finished.

That sounds harsh, so here's the shape of the problem. Reassign's whole loop is *plan → live → reflect*: you [draw tomorrow on the dial](https://reassign.ai/blog/why-a-day-is-round), you live it, you [look back and mark what actually happened](https://reassign.ai/blog/the-other-half-of-planning). Every part of that loop makes the next part better: a reflected day sharpens the [energy curve](https://reassign.ai/blog/energy-drawn-round-the-day), a planned tomorrow makes the morning calm. But every part of it happens *in the app*. Close the tab and the loop has no pulse. The evening you'd have sketched tomorrow slips by, nothing reminds you, and the streak quietly dies of nobody's fault.

So the dial now writes home. Four short emails, each built from your real day, each sent at an hour you choose, each with one job in the loop.

## Four emails, four moments

**The evening plan nudge** (20:00 by default) exists for one sentence: *your tomorrow is still open.* It only sends when that's true (tomorrow empty, and you haven't just been in the app), and it comes with what's actually open: the hours you have, an area that hasn't had a turn this week, one suggested block to start from. Eight in the evening is deliberate. That's the hour when "I should plan tomorrow" is still an action, not a regret.

**The morning brief** (07:00) is today at a glance: your plan drawn as the dial, your first block, the window where your energy is likely to peak, and one move if the day still needs one. It's the paper you'd want next to the coffee.

**The evening reflect prompt** (21:00) closes the day. It shows the plan you made and asks the only question that matters: how did it actually go? One tap lands you in the reflect flow, marking blocks *as planned*, *didn't happen*, or *changed*: the honest look-back that feeds everything else.

**The Monday weekly review** (08:00) is the wide shot: where the week's time went by area, how closely you kept to what you planned, what recharged you against what drained you, and one move for the week ahead. A week is the smallest unit where patterns stop hiding.

## Your dial, not a template

Most product email is a costume: a template wearing your first name. These are the opposite: every line in them is computed from your actual days, by the same engine that draws [Time Insights](https://reassign.ai/docs#time-insights). The numbers in the weekly are your numbers; the energy peak in the morning brief is your curve, bent by last night's real sleep.

And the day itself arrives as the dial. Each email renders your actual ring (blocks in their own [area colour and activity pattern](https://reassign.ai/blog/areas-and-activities-colour-and-texture), the same shapes you'd see in the app), because a list of times flattens a day and the whole point of Reassign is that it shouldn't be flattened. Tap any block in the email and it opens on the dial, ready to edit. The email isn't a report about your planner. It's a door back into it.

## Earning the inbox

The inbox is hostile territory, and it should be: everyone's is full of software shouting *come back*. So these emails hold themselves to a stricter rule: **an email that asks you to do something you've already done is spam**, even from us.

That rule is enforced, not aspirational. The plan nudge checks tomorrow at send time and stays silent if you've planned it. The reflect prompt skips a day you've already reviewed. The plan nudge also stands down when you've been in the app recently, because you clearly didn't need the knock. And if you stop opening a digest, it pauses *itself* after a stretch of unread sends: no confession required, just a quiet switch in the app when you want it back. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe that Gmail and the rest surface right in the header.

The defaults follow the same logic. Only two are on out of the box (the evening plan nudge and the Monday weekly, the two with the highest follow-through), and never more than one daily email a day. The morning brief and the reflect prompt wait until you ask. All four live in **Settings → Notifications**, each with its own switch, its own hour, and a weekdays-only option for the daily ones, because your Saturday inbox deserves its weekend too.

## The loop, closed from outside

The quiet ambition here is that the emails make the *app* need you less, not more. A good evening nudge means tomorrow is planned before you sleep. A good reflect prompt means the day gets its honest ending. A good weekly means the pattern gets seen before it becomes a rut. None of that requires you to live in a tab. It requires the right sentence at the right local hour, with your real day attached.

The digests are for everyone; on the [free plan](https://reassign.ai/pricing), the weekly's deeper sections show as a locked preview while the rest reads in full. Turn on the ones you want, set the hours to your evening and your Monday, and let the dial write home.

## FAQ

### What email digests does Reassign send?

Four, each its own switch: a morning brief (today at a glance: your plan, first block, energy peak), an evening plan nudge when tomorrow is still empty, an evening reflect prompt to mark how today went, and a Monday weekly review of where the week's time went. Each carries your real day drawn as the dial.

### Which digests are on by default?

The evening plan nudge and the Monday weekly review are on out of the box; the morning brief and the reflect prompt are opt-in. Every one can be switched off individually in Settings → Notifications, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.

### Can I choose when the emails arrive?

Yes. Each digest sends at a local hour you pick (the weekly on your chosen weekday too), and the daily ones can be kept to weekdays only. The defaults are 07:00 for the morning brief, 20:00 for the plan nudge, 21:00 for the reflect prompt, and Monday 08:00 for the weekly.

### Will Reassign keep emailing me if I stop reading?

No. An action email skips itself when you've already done the thing (the plan nudge stays silent once tomorrow is planned; the reflect prompt skips a day you've reviewed), and a digest you stop opening pauses itself, with a switch in the app to turn it back on whenever you like.

### Are email digests free or Pro?

The digests are for everyone. On the weekly review, the deeper Pro sections (like time by area for the week) show as a locked preview on the free plan; the rest of the email reads in full.
