Try Reassign if you want all 24 hours visible while you plan. Keep TickTick if its lists, calendar, habits and reminders already cover your day. You can also use both: Reassign syncs with TickTick, so your task list can stay where it is. I build Reassign; here are the tradeoffs.

## TickTick and Reassign at a glance

TickTick's linked sources were checked on 28 September 2026. Both apps can put tasks into working hours; the clearest differences are the day view, the surrounding tools and the price.

## When to keep TickTick

If your main problem is capturing tasks, finding them again and remembering to finish them, TickTick covers a lot. Its [feature guide](https://ticktick.com/features) lists tags, filters, shared lists, reminders, widgets and a habit tracker. You can keep detailed task lists and use a calendar when you need working hours.

You can also [time block in TickTick](https://help.ticktick.com/articles/7055782149730861056). Place a task on the calendar, then drag its edge to set the duration. The [pricing page](https://ticktick.com/upgrade) lists basic calendar access on Free, with task duration and multiple calendar views on Premium. Try those controls before switching apps just to schedule a task.

TickTick's [downloads](https://ticktick.com/download) cover iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux. If a native app or home-screen widget is central to your day, keep that in the decision. Reassign is an installable web app, saving requires internet, and its home-screen widgets are Soon.

## What changes on Reassign's dial

### See the evening while planning the morning

A proposal needs two hours. Lunch takes one. There is a call at 3, and you want to finish at 6. On Reassign's [24-hour dial](https://reassign.ai/features/the-dial), each block takes up its real share of the day. Add the proposal and the remaining gap gets visibly smaller.

The now indicator shows where you are, and past blocks fade. Colour marks the area of life; the fill pattern marks the activity type. If the proposal overruns, [shift the blocks after it together](https://reassign.ai/features/reschedule), then undo if the move does not work.

This view trades detailed task rows for a whole-day overview. TickTick gives you more ways to organise the tasks themselves. Reassign is useful when seeing how they fit into one day is the part you struggle with.

### Put the focus timer inside the planned time

TickTick's [focus tools](https://help.ticktick.com/articles/7055782010496745472) offer Pomodoro and stopwatch modes, with task-linked focus records.

Reassign's [focus intervals](https://reassign.ai/features/focus) divide a block you already planned into work and break stretches. Press F to work on that block in focus mode. Choose 25/5, 50/10, 90/15, custom lengths or no breaks before starting. Press Pause when you need to step away and Continue when you are back; the pause draws as a break, and every later interval moves by its length. Finish the session when you need to stop.

Optional [block and break alerts](https://reassign.ai/docs#block-and-break-alerts) reach the devices you enable. At the end, [reflection](https://reassign.ai/features/reflection) lets you compare the planned hours with what happened.

### Choose how you want to track progress

TickTick's [achievement system](https://help.ticktick.com/articles/7082302534169133056) awards points for actions such as completing tasks and can deduct them for unfinished or expired tasks. If that motivates you, it can be useful feedback.

Reassign has no streaks, badges or achievement scores by design. A missed day breaks nothing. You can return to today's dial and plan from there.

## AI planning is available in both

TickTick has an [AI Assistant](https://help.ticktick.com/articles/7503016104470511616) for working with tasks, habits and focus records, plus an [MCP server](https://help.ticktick.com/articles/7438129581631995904) for using an external assistant. You can plan with AI without leaving TickTick.

Reassign's [Ask AI](https://reassign.ai/features/ask-ai) works with your schedule and Inbox. Ask what fits before lunch, dictate a change, or open `/braindump` and attach a photo of your paper list. Check **What I read** against the page and edit the cards before applying the plan.

Voice from the dial applies safe edits immediately with one Undo. Deletes, clears, remembered preferences, questions needing your answer and app actions open in the palette for review. [MCP access](https://reassign.ai/mcp) lets an assistant read and edit the schedule too; some changes apply immediately and return an undo token.

## Keep TickTick and sync the tasks you want to plan

[Connect TickTick to Reassign](https://reassign.ai/resources/ticktick-sync), then choose your projects. The sync handles tasks with times differently from tasks that only have dates:

- **Timed tasks** become blocks at that hour. Moving or resizing one in Reassign writes the new start and due time back to TickTick.
- **Date-only tasks** wait in the [Inbox](https://reassign.ai/features/inbox) until you give them working time. Undated tasks import from projects you opt in.
- **Titles, plain-text notes, times and completion** sync both ways.
- **Habits, focus statistics, tags, priorities, subtasks and repeat rules** stay in TickTick.

Reassign checks TickTick about once an hour. Use **Sync now** on the source card to pull a change sooner. That delay matters if you regularly switch between apps during the day.

Meetings need their own [Google Calendar](https://reassign.ai/features/google-calendar) or [Outlook Calendar](https://reassign.ai/features/outlook-calendar) connection. Connecting TickTick does not import the calendar subscriptions you view inside it.

## Price: switching costs more

On 28 September 2026, [TickTick Premium](https://ticktick.com/upgrade) cost **US$49.99/year**, alongside a free plan. Reassign Pro costs **$14/month or $120/year** ($10/month billed yearly). If you keep both paid plans, those subscriptions add together.

All Reassign planner features are included in Pro. Its 7-day trial needs no card and never charges automatically. After the trial, a subscription is required to use the planner; your data stays. [See Reassign pricing](https://reassign.ai/pricing).

The reason to pay the difference is that the dial helps you plan and adjust your time. If TickTick already does that well for you, keep it.

## Try the same day in both apps

1. Plan tomorrow in TickTick using its calendar, with working hours for two important tasks.
2. [Start the Reassign trial](https://reassign.app), connect that TickTick project, and check the same tasks on the dial. Connect your calendar separately if you also want meetings there.
3. Tomorrow afternoon, after the plan has met the day, compare both views. Which makes the remaining time easier to judge?
4. Move one linked task and check the change in TickTick. Try **Sync now** when checking a change made in TickTick.

Keep the view that helps you decide what to do next. If you want to compare other planning styles, visit [the comparisons hub](https://reassign.ai/resources/comparisons).

## FAQ

### Is Reassign a free TickTick alternative?

No. Reassign costs $14/month or $120/year after a 7-day no-card trial. TickTick has a free plan, and its Premium plan was US$49.99/year on 28 September 2026. If price is your reason to switch, Reassign costs more.

### Can you time block in TickTick?

Yes. TickTick lets you place tasks on a calendar and adjust their duration. Its pricing page lists basic calendar access on Free, with task duration and multiple calendar views on Premium. Reassign lets you plan on a 24-hour dial instead.

### Can I keep TickTick's habit tracker if I use Reassign?

Yes. You can keep using TickTick and sync selected task projects with Reassign. Habits and their check-ins stay in TickTick, along with focus statistics, tags, priorities, subtasks and repeat rules. Those do not become Reassign blocks.

### Does TickTick have an MCP server?

Yes. TickTick documents its own MCP server for reading and managing tasks from an AI assistant. Reassign also has MCP access, included in Pro, with 13 planning tools for reading and editing your schedule, finding free time and undoing changes.

### Which app should I try for a clearer view of time?

Try the calendar you already have first. If seeing the whole day at once helps you judge what fits, compare it with Reassign's dial. Give the same tasks the same working hours in both, then check which view helps you adjust when something runs long.
